I’ve spent most of my life writing songs, scoring stories, and looking for ways to say the unsayable. Storm Drain Symphony took eighteen years to become itself — not because I couldn’t finish it, but because it wasn’t ready to be heard until now.

It started as something I needed to write and became something I hope you need to listen to. That’s the story but it’s not the only reason it exists in this form.

We’re in a new age — one where the old gatekeepers, the systems that used to decide what got made and who got to make it, are falling apart. That means we get to be our own creator, producer, and manager of the things we believe matter enough to exist. I built something in that spirit: a thirteen-hour, thru-scored audio memoir that doesn’t tell a life story so much as compose one — verse and narration built as a single continuous piece, start to finish. I don’t know yet if it’s groundbreaking. I know it’s the kind of thing that couldn’t have been made, or gotten out into the world, any other way five years ago.
